What if the Bible is True?

Do you believe the Bible is true? That it is God’s written revelation to mankind? Or, do you believe the Bible is a book that contains a bunch of stories about fictional characters and events that never happened?

Well, what difference does it make if the Bible is true? Given the claims that have been made about the Bible, I think this question is worth exploring.

If the Bible is true—

God created the universe and everything in it, including mankind. (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:27 )

This means that God is your Creator. As the Creator, He has the right and responsibility to establish the rules that govern the operation of the universe and the relationships within it, just as a potter determines how the vessels he creates will be used and how they will look and function.

God’s creation was very good, until Adam and Eve committed the first sin. (Genesis 1:31; Genesis 3:11-13)

Because of that sin, disease, decay, and death entered the world. (Romans 5:12)

If the Bible is true—

Each of us will one day stand before the judgment seat and be judged by Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 9:27; John 5:22; 2 Timothy 4:1) Every human being is a sinner and deserves to die, to spend eternity separated from God. (Revelation 20:14-15)

You are a sinner and you deserve eternal death. (Romans 6:23)

God loves each one of us. God loves you. (Romans 5:8; John 3:16; 1 John 4:9)

God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to die a cruel death on a cross and to be raised from the dead to live eternally, sitting at the right hand of God the Father. (Matthew 27:35; Luke 24:7; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Mark 16:19)

There is only one way for any human being to be reconciled to God, to be made right in God’s eyes, to escape the punishment for sin, and to live with God eternally. (John 14:6; John 3:16)

If the Bible is true—

Jesus Christ is your only hope of salvation. Buddha cannot save you. Mohammed cannot save you. Maitraya cannot save you. No one else can save you, and you cannot save yourself. Only Jesus can save you. (John 3:18)

Jesus paid the penalty for your sins, but that payment is not applied to your account unless you receive Jesus as your personal Savior. A gift that is not received is worthless to the intended recipient. (Romans 5:8; John 1:12)

All other religions are false. They cannot all be true, for the Bible says there is only one God; that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between man and God the Father; that it is the blood of Jesus that cleanses us; that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 John 1:7; John 14:6)

God offers you the gift of eternal life through His Son. (Romans 6:23; 1 Timothy 1:15-16; Mark 16:16)

If you have not received His gift, will you do so today? It will make the difference between life and death for all eternity.
