Workplace Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for the ability you have given us to work and earn a living. Just as you blessed Potiphar and his household for Joseph’s sake, we ask that, for our sakes, you bless our employers. Please bless all of those in leadership positions in our workplaces, O Lord, and draw to yourself any among them who are not in a right relationship with you. Open their eyes so that they can see the truth in Jesus Christ. Please give our leaders wisdom, servant hearts, and the integrity to always do what is right in your eyes. Guard our companies’ leaders, Father, from the hands of the wicked, and preserve them from any who plan to trip them up as they seek to improve our companies. Please help our companies’ leaders to lead with great confidence, wisdom, discernment, clear thinking, and compassion.

As the demands of work close in upon us, help us to remember that you will deliver us from all of our fears as we exalt your holy name, and that your Holy Spirit will fight the battle that we are incapable of fighting. As we struggle with our work, help us, Father, to take refuge in the shelter of your wings, feast on the abundance of your house, and drink from the river of your delights. Shower your steadfast love upon us, O Lord, as we wait patiently for you. Hear the cry for help from your righteous ones and deliver us from all our afflictions.

O, Lord, please help us to show your love to the nonbelievers who work beside us. Help us to so live our lives before them that they will ask us about the hope that is within us. Then, Father, give us the words to say that will help them to see their need for a Savior, to understand that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and to heed the words of Jesus to follow him.

We ask all of these things in the holy and precious name of your Son, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
